Abinus Sama Completed Master of International Relations program from The Australian National University (ANU), Acton Campus, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. He is the recipient of the Australia Awards Scholarship in 2017 intake 2018, and a Yali man who studied in Australia through the Australia Award Scholarship (AAS). Executive Board of Indonesian Australian Student Association (PPIA) Canberra, Australia 2019. He Completed his Bachelor of International Relations (IR) majoring in Diplomacy and Negotiation from Christian University of Indonesia (UKI Jakarta in 2014) with one of the best field research theses, grade A with the title: “ Pentingnya Payung Hukum Pemerintah Indoneia dan Papua New Guinea dalam Menangani Lintas Batas: Studi kasus PLBN Sota Merauke, Papua”. During his undergraduate studies, he was involved in the establishment of the UKI English Debate Community and was often active in the English Debate Community. Representing UKI at the International Humanitarian Law Debate held by the International Committee of the Red-Cross (ICRC) at Gajah Mada University (UGM) Jogja in 2011, Abinus also actively participated in the English debate on behalf of the campus while he was an International Relations student at UKI. Completed primary to senior high school in Merauke regency, South Papua. He was the OSIS chairman of SMA N 3 Merauke in 2009. Graduated from SMP N 2 Merauke, and studied at SD Negeri Bokem in grades 1-4, moved and graduated from SD YPK Mopah Lama Merauke. Abinus Sama is the Co-founder of the Institute for Border Studies Millennial Think Tank (IBS-MTT), Millennial Collaboration for Research, Empowerment and Advocacy in Jakarta. Served as vice chairman II of IBS-MTT in 2020-present. Active in the Papuan Oikumene Student Association in 2007-2010 in Merauke, Fakfak, Teminabuan, Sorong, Manokwari, and Serui mentoring by Pastor Solaeman Thedyan. Abinus has participated in an Internship for 3 months (January-March 2020) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, directorate of Asia, Pacific and Africa (Aspasaf).

Joined the Volunteer Team for the Acceleration and Handling of COVID-19 of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), delivering aid and opening a public kitchen to provide lunch for students from Tanah Papua and Flobamora in the Cawang area, East Jakarta, under the guidance of Mrs. Fibiola Ohei. Mrs. Fibiola Ohei assigned Abinus to participate in a working-visit with 3 Indonesia’s ministers, namely, Minister of health H.E Letjen TNI Dr. dr. Terawan Agus Putranto Sp.Rad; Minister of public works and public housing H.E. Dr. Ir. M. Basuki Hadimuljono, M.Sc; Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform H.E. H. Tjahjo Kumolo, S.H, Head of the National Disaster Management Agency 2020, Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Dr. (H.C.) Doni Monardo; members of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission VIII and Commission IX, as well as other officials in a number of regions in Indonesia. Starting from Surabaya, Ambon, Halmahera, Manokwari, Jayapura, PLBN Sota Merauke, and Ujung Pandang for five days respectively. Abinus is also a member of the "Bakujaga-Bakusayang" team under the guidance of Mrs. Fibiola Ohei, which is engaged in the economy in motivating indigenous Papuans to pursue entrepreneurship and succeed in business, together with Mrs. Fibiola Ohei, Abinus is trusted to participate in active training for millennial farmers in Bandung, Sumedang, Solo, Bogor, Semarang, Palangkaraya, Bekasi, Banten, and Jayapura.

Has attended the 4th English Language Training Assistant (ELTA) program in Manokwari and Indonesia Australia Language Foundation (IALF) Bali for 3 months. Participated in Pre-Departure Training (PDT) at IALF Bali for 4.5 months and extension program for 3 months at IALF Surabaya.Took the real IELTS Test 6 times with a record 5 times failing. Abinus has a high will and hopes to get a scholarship to pursue his doctoral degree back to Australian National University (ANU).
